Bigger is better. Bringing your iPhone app to iPad
In recent years, the number of iPhone apps that don’t have an iPad version has been steadily increasing. From a business perspective, it just didn’t make sense to invest in one. Now, as Apple has announced iPhone apps will now be expected to be resizable in iOS 27, the business perspective has officially changed! This talk discusses how to take a mature iPhone-only codebase to a resizable app capable of running on iPad. It covers tips and tricks, and pitfalls along the way, with an emphasis on keeping changes foundational, so it doesn’t get in the way of daily work!
About the presenter
Tim is an Aussie iOS developer from Perth, WA. He's been a huge fan of making iPhone apps since the 3G era and has been presenting at /dev/world since shortly after. He spent several years working for Instagram at the Meta office in Tokyo, Japan, and is now Principal Engineer at Third Intelligence, an AI research and product development company also in Tokyo.
